Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Friday, Jan. 31: Routine activity reported.
Jan. 30: At 1:23 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 2400 block of 260th St in Junction Township. At 4:50 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in the 500 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 7:44 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 100 block of 250th St in Scranton Township.
Wednesday, Jan. 29: At 1:22 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted the Jefferson PD with a complaint of harassment at Greene County High School. At 4:14 pm the sheriff and deputies assisted the Jefferson PD in executing a search warrant in the 300 block of E. State St in Jefferson.
Tuesday, Jan. 28: At 1:35 am Latoya Preston, 48, of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*.
Monday, Jan. 27: At 7:36 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Quaker Ave near 235th St in Grant Township. At 9:27 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Hwy 30 west of Jefferson. James McGlynn, 63, of Boone was arrested on a U.S. Marshals arrest warrant. McGlynn was taken to the Boone County sheriff’s office.
Sunday, Sept. 26: At 2:58 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 900 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 12:32 pm a deputy assisted the Boone County sheriff’s office with a pursuit. At 8:57 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 600 block of Jay St in Churdan.
Saturday, Jan. 25: At 8:11 am a deputy investigated a vehicle in the ditch on 222nd St near R Ave in Grant Township. At 10:15 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 800 block of I Ave in Bristol Township. At 8:50 pm Lonnie Walker, 46, of Carroll was booked into the jail on charges of operating while intoxicated and child endangerment*.
Friday, Jan. 24: At 8:08 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 800 block of High St in Scranton.
Thursday, Jan. 23: At 11:06 am a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious dog in the 600 block of Sand St in Churdan. At 11:50 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 400 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 1:25 pm Jamie Wade, 25, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of disorderly conduct*. At 6:53 pm Richard Sucher, 57, of Perry was booked into the jail on charges of fraudulent practices and gambling- avoid setoff*.
Wednesday, Jan. 22: At 1:26 pm a deputy dispatched an injured deer in the 2300 block of 330th St in Washington Township.
Tuesday, Jan. 21: At 12:43 pm the Greene County sheriff’s office and the Jefferson PD assisted by Stuart PD K-9, Dallas County K-9, and Guthrie County K-9 searched the Greene County High School and the Paton-Churdan School for controlled substances. Nothing was located. At 2:19 pm a deputy and the sheriff investigated a complaint of harassment in the 800 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan.
Monday, Jan. 20: At 9:23 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass in the 800 block of E. Railroad St in Grand Junction.

Saturday, Jan. 18: At 9:21 am Merissa Olson, 35, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for a probation violation*.
Friday, Jan. 17: At 11:55 am a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 600 block of N Ave in Dawson Township. At 7:48 pm Jeremy Andrews, 36, of Scranton was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*. At 11:56 pm Ashley Spaulding, 27, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia*.
Thursday, Jan. 16: At 11 am Mychael Mueller, 35, of Fort Dodge was booked into the jail for a violation of probation*. At 12:42 pm a deputy arrested Leeroy Steadman, 23, of Grand Junction on a charge of sex abuse- third degree*. At 6:21 pm a deputy, Scranton fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded a garage fire in the 500 block of Main St in Scranton. There was minor damage to the garage and a vehicle.
Wednesday, Jan. 15: At 11 am Dale Spaulding, 56, of Scranton was booked into the jail on charges of violation of a no contact order, violation of probation, and harassment- third degree*. At 4:08 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of assaults that happened in several locations around Greene County.
Tuesday, Jan. 14: At 11:43 am a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in the 600 block of Jay St in Churdan. At 12:48 pm Tiffany McCalley, 52, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail for failure to appear*.
Monday, Jan. 13: No calls for service.
Sunday, Jan. 12: At 11:44 am a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in the 600 block of Kendrick St. At 1:43 pm Darrien Peterson, 18, of Churdan was booked into the jail on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and carrying weapons while ineligible*.
Saturday, Jan. 11: At 7:33 pm a deputy assisted with a cow out in the 1800 block of 235th St east of Jefferson. At 10:03 pm Luis Medina Cruz, 26, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury*.
Friday, Jan. 10: At 7:33 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 800 block of Jay St in Churdan.
Thursday, Jan. 9: At 4:17 am Nicole Huss, 37, of Newton was booked into the jail on a charge of operation without an ignition interlock device.* At 2:26 pm a deputy, Jefferson PD, and the Jefferson fire department responded to a large gas leak in the 100 block of N. Chestnut St, Jefferson. At 8:14 pm a deputy assisted with a unruly parent at a basketball game in the 600 block of Adrian St in Churdan.
Wednesday, Jan. 8: At 2:50 pm Amy Yager, 32, of Coon Rapids was booked into the jail on a charge of failure to stop in safe and sure distance*. At 7:12 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 235th St and Parkland Ave east of Jefferson.
Tuesday, Jan. 7: At 6:10 am the sheriff and deputies assisted by the Jefferson PD and the Internet Crimes against Children task force conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of S. Oak St, Jefferson, for suspected possession of child pornography. Electronic storage devices were seized. Charges are pending completion of lab results.

Sunday, Jan. 5: At 1:53 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a vicious animal in the 800 block of E. Sandoe St in Grand Junction.
Saturday, Jan. 4: At 3:25 am Jeremy Andrews, 36, of Scranton was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*.
Friday, Jan. 3: At 7:53 am a deputy assisted with a cow out in the 1700 block of 222nd St west of Jefferson.
Thursday, Jan. 2: At 6:41 am a deputy investigated a single vehicle in the ditch due to road conditions. At 7:16 am a deputy assisted a motorist stuck on 235th St and Quint Ave in Junction Township. At 8:11 am a deputy assisted a motorist stuck at the same location. At 8:47 am a deputy assisted a motorist stuck on Hwy 4 near 190th St north of Jefferson. At 9:22 am a deputy assisted a motorist stuck in the 1100 block of N Ave north of Jefferson. At 9:32 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 900 block of Cedar St in Scranton. At 10:04 am a deputy investigated a gas drive-off at the Paton Pit Stop.
Wednesday, Jan. 1: At 4:15 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident in the 700 block of L Ave in Bristol Township. Stephanie Bailey of Churdan lost control of a 2008 Honda Civic, rolling into the ditch and striking a fence. The driver was transported by Greene County Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was a total loss. At 4:24 pm a deputy investigated a hunting violation in the 1400 block of Jordan Ave in Jackson Township. At 4:47 pm Christopher Gilliland, 27, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault*.
